    The cost of an eye examination is covered by the NHS for the following groups:

    • Under 16 years of age
    • 16, 17, or 18 years old and in full time education
    • Over 60 years of age
    • Receiving (or a partner of someone that receives) Income Support, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Pension Credit, Guarantee Credit or Universal Credit
    • Diagnosed with glaucoma or diabetes
    • Aged over 40 and with a parent, sibling or child diagnosed with glaucoma
